Aluminium Single-Sash Window 60 mm Detail (DWG + CAD Package)
Aluminium window systems used in façade design can easily cause water, air and thermal problems when glass build-up, gasket layout and hardware positioning are not solved correctly. This study is a DWG + CAD technical package that presents the 60 mm single-sash aluminium window system with frame–sash profiles, glazing gaskets, corner blocks, window handle and locking mechanism in one complete detail.

1. System Definition and Typical Applications
This package is based on a 60 mm deep single-sash aluminium window system. It is commonly used in:
- Residential projects for standard window openings,
- Office and commercial buildings as natural ventilation openings,
- Schools, dormitories and hospitals where controlled opening is required,
- Operable units integrated into curtain wall and façade infill systems.
The 60 mm profile depth allows the use of high-performance insulated glass units, larger gasket sections and advanced multi-point locking hardware.

2. Profile Section and Component List
All components are shown with a numbered legend in the detail. The list below explains items 1–16 in the drawing:
- 1 – Frame Profile: Main load-bearing profile that connects to the wall and carries all static loads.
- 2 – Sash Profile: Forms the operable sash, carrying the glass load and all hardware.
- 3 – Glazing Bead Profile: Bead profile that secures the glass in the frame/sash and provides the seating for gaskets.
- 4 – Inner Glass Gasket: Gasket between the inner glass surface and profile, providing airtight and watertight sealing.
- 5 – Outer Glass Gasket: Gasket on the outer glass surface, controlling air–water tightness and ensuring safe seating of the glass.
- 6 – Dust Gasket: Complementary gasket between frame and sash reducing air and dust infiltration.
- 7 – Rebate Gasket: Gasket located at the sash–frame overlap line, supporting closure under wind load.
- 8 – Rebate Gasket: Second gasket on the opposite side of the overlap providing a double sealing line.
- 9 – Corner Block: Block used at frame or sash corners for water management and additional stiffness.
- 10 – Corner Block: Alternative/additional corner block depending on profile geometry.
- 11 – Corner Cleat: Mechanical cleat connecting profiles at 90°, ensuring stable frame/sash corners.
- 12 – Hinge: Hardware that provides the opening movement and carries sash weight.
- 13 – Corner Block: Extra block especially around the locking area and mullion zones for additional support.
- 14 – Corner Block: Upper/lower corner block supporting drainage and gasket continuity.
- 15 – Window Handle: Main user interface element transferring the opening, closing and locking action.
- 16 – Locking Mechanism: Multi-point locking system that controls security and sealing performance.

3. Glazing, Gaskets and Weather-Tightness
Gasket Continuity and Performance
In a single-sash system, glazing and gasket layout directly define thermal and weather performance. In this detail, the following items are highlighted with colours and numbers:
- Inner and outer glass gaskets,
- Rebate gaskets on the closing line,
- Corner blocks and their relation with gasket continuity,
- Glass seating and bearing axes.
This allows designers and site teams to identify potential leakage points caused by wrong gasket selection or incorrect gasket channels before problems appear on site.
4. Hinges, Hardware and Opening Mechanism
Correct Hardware Layout in a Single-Sash System
In a 60 mm single-sash window, correct positioning of the hardware geometry is essential to prevent sash drop, gasket over-compression and gaps between sash and frame.
- Hinge axes and their location on the frame profile,
- Lock/espagnolette locking points along the sash,
- Handle movement path during closing,
- Critical areas where 1–3 mm tolerances must be maintained
are clearly shown in the detail. Fabrication and installation teams can use the DWG drawing to check hinge and locking axes directly on site.
5. Wall Interface Details
Wall–Window Interface
The detail does not only show the window, it also allows reading the wall interface on the same section:
- Relationship between concrete, plaster and cladding layers and the window frame,
- Anchor/dowel zones, structural fixing axis and installation gap,
- Sealant, gasket and insulation regions,
- Installation configuration that minimises thermal bridges
can be evaluated using this drawing. In this way, both design and site teams work with the same reference detail.
6. DWG + CAD Technical Package Content
